Doug Earhart is a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General.   He began his military career by enlisting in the field artillery.  After attending Officer Candidate School, he was commissioned in the field artillery and served in a variety of command and staff positions from platoon through division task force and in several key assignments at Headquarters, Department of the Army at the Pentagon.  Highlights of his assignments include Commanding General, Multi-National Task Force, NATO Kosovo Forces, Deputy Division Commander, 29th Infantry Division (Light) and Deputy Director, Army Quadrennial Defense Review Office.  He is considered an expert in DoD planning, programming and budget systems and is fully qualified in the Force Management Functional Area. His awards and decorations included the Ranger Tab, the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge and the Legion of Merit with two oak leaf clusters. Upon his Army retirement, Doug worked in higher education, defense and homeland security federal contracting for Fortune 500 companies such as PAE, Amentum and SAIC.      

He currently runs his consulting firm, D&E Enterprises, and serves as a strategic advisor to Future Defense USA, the Northern Virginia Veterans Association, and the U.S. Ranger Leadership and Policy Center. He holds master’s degrees in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University and in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in political science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
